The Old Library

Saturday 15th May 2021 | 7.30pm

Robert Garnham and Rob Barratt are two of the South West’s funniest spoken word artists. Both of the Robbies perform all around the UK and internationally too. After several years of enjoying each other’s work they have come together to present an evening of thought-provoking poetry, whimsy, song and daftness.

Robert Garnham is a comedy spoken word artist, originally from Surrey. His whimsy-driven poems are off-beat, high energy and hilariously deadpan, looking at everything from badgers who want to be in soap operas, a love affair with a Muppet, to loading the dishwasher with a famous opera singer.

Rob Barratt is a Dudley-born and Cornwall-based comic poet, humourist and singer. His brain-tickling, word-mangling performance combines clever word play, verse and song with satire, parody and audience participation.

"An excellent poet with an inimitable voice and a nice smile". (Rob Garnham) - Matt Harvey.

“One of the funniest performers yet. His audience was with him from the moment he began“ (Rob Barratt) - Write Angle, Petersfield

St Petroc's Church

NB: New date

Saturday 19th June | Doors 7pm

For the first time in over a decade, Lau present an entirely acoustic tour, as part of their ‘Unplugged’ Concert Tour 2020.

The pioneering Scottish folk trio have been acknowledged as phenomenal live performers (‘the UK's best live band’ – the Guardian), and now their Unplugged concert tour sees traditional music’s most celebrated innovators strip away their banks of electronics, loops and wild effects. In brash and polarised political times, here is the poetry of real instruments and considerate music making.

The St Petroc’s Sessions offer a rare opportunity to enjoy live music from big-name headliners and emerging local talent.
