EDGELARKS - Live in concert with intoBodmin

Live online performance

Fri 23rd October

8pm | £15 (only 50 available)

Having had to postpone their gig at The Old Library until 2021, we are excited to offer a very special online gig. Phil and Hannah will play a full two set concert, followed by a chat and Q&A in the Zoom bar!

Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin have proved themselves one of the most captivating and innovative acoustic duos in the UK - winning the 'Best Duo' accolade at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and being nominated for the same title again in both 2016 and 2018.

It's a class act built on Henry's much extolled musicianship, Martin's highly original songwriting and her deep, soulful voice.

This duo has a combination of virtuosity, intensity and charisma
that merits a slot on much bigger stages"

John L. Walters, The Guardian

Bard Heads: THE QUEEN'S SPEECH

Live online performance

Thursday 26th November

7:30pm

The Queen’s Speech – Miranda Finally Opens Up About “The Last 35 Long Stinking Years!”

In the brave new world of corrupt politicians, newspaper moguls and police, the Queen of Naples is yearning for the old days of sand, sea, sun and freedom. Stuck in the Palace in Naples however, her childhood island is just a pipe dream…..unless some old acquaintances can come to her rescue….?

Inspired by Shakespeare’s most famous plays and with a nod to Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads, Bard Heads imagines what might have happened next in ‘The Tempest’.

“A tour de force performance, beautifully written by the performer.”

Bard Heads: HAPPY AS LARRY

Live online performance

Thursday 19th November

7:30pm

Happy As Larry – A Story About A Dog, A Book And One Hell Of A Scandal. Hold The Front Page!

After a brief enquiry Friar Laurence is forced to confront his part in the tragic deaths of two star-crossed lovers.  With interventions from a slightly camp Prince, a chatter-box Nurse, a dodgy Apothecary and a very scruffy Dog he reassesses his life and questions his beliefs.  Will he be trapped forever in bitter regret or learn to accept and move on?

Inspired by Shakespeare’s most famous plays and with a nod to Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads, Bard Heads imagines what might have happened next in ‘Romeo & Juliet’.

“Curnow has done a splendid job in writing the play.  A colourful and engaging monologue.”
