The first exhibition inside the newly opened Ola Cafe is a wonderful intergenerational family collaboration from Michael Hart and Matt Leggatt.
Michael Hart is a London born artist who became inspired by the Cornish Coast and moorlands after relocating to Cornwall in the 1960’s. A graduate of Hornsey School of Art, Michael has exhibited at the Penlee Gallery in Penzance, Lemon Street Gallery in Truro and Camelford Gallery. His recent work explores local landscapes around Bodmin and Lanhydrock.
Matt Leggatt is a talented local artist whose paintings and drawings focus on animals and the energy of wildlife. He is currently studying at Plymouth College of Art, and is Michael Hart’s grandson.
About the Venue:
The Ola Café is a newly opened tapas and Spanish style café bar inside The Old Library, Bodmin.
Run by Sirone Devadason (former manager of The Mill Cafe, Bodmin Nursery) the café offers small plates / tapas of Spanish inspired classics. Think meatball in rich tomato sauce, pastas bravas and tortillas, Eco roasted coffees and Cornish tea, as well as popular bar drinks. Ola’s aim is to provide a chilled arts cafe during the day and a bar supporting intoBodmin’s programme of film, theatre and music in the evening. Using local produce where possible, the Ola Café hopes to put the Old Library on the culinary map.
