Artist Opportunity: The Water (up)Cycle
A commission to create a moving water installation in the grounds of The Old Library, Bodmin using reclaimed materials.
About intoBodmin
intoBodmin is a community interest company established in 2017 to bring about greater community cohesion and local pride through arts and culture. We are based at The Old Library in Bodmin, built in 1897 by John Passmore Edwards. As part of the regeneration of this building, we have created a kitchen garden and seating area at the back of the building.
At intoBodmin, we are committed to inclusion and creating opportunities for all. We welcome expressions of interest from early career artists, as well as those with more experience.
The Brief
The artist
We are looking for an artist/maker who is imaginative, creative and interested in contributing to a community space.
You will be able to work with reclaimed materials to create an appealing water installation in the garden of The Old Library.
You will be able to project manage the design, fabrication and delivery of the installation. intoBodmin can support you through the provision of tools and volunteers if needed.
intoBodmin will provide most materials and a solar pump, but sourcing of other items may be required by the artist.
You must ensure that the installation is completed before 1st March 2021 to a high standard of aesthetics and safety and you will need your own Public Liability Insurance.
Fee
The fee is £400. This is to cover the design, making and installation of the project over 4 days.
